Immigrant Justice Resources

Many people have asked for ways to support and stand with immigrant communities by acting with our deeply held Jewish values: lo ta’amod al dam re’echa (do not stand idly by in the face of violence), pidyon sh’vuyim (the redemption of captives), and tikkun olam (the repair of the world).

There are many roles in moments of resistance:

Protect: Urge your state’s governor to issue an executive order implementing a sensitive locations policy to protect hospitals, schools, and houses of worship from immigration enforcement.
Mobilize: Connect with fellow Beth Am members at local rallies to stand against the violation of democratic ideals. Let us know if you would like to be part of a rapid response team.

Spring Tzedek House Parties

This year as we sit around our Seder tables, we reflect that true freedom is not only physical security, but the ability to uphold spiritual, moral, and democratic values. Temple Beth Am is proud to share ways that we are meeting this moment with both local and national efforts to ensure that basic liberties and institutions we cherish are preserved, l’dor v’ dor.

Internally, we celebrate the launch of our Spring Tzedek House parties-our initiative to turn our “House of the People” into a Beit Tzedek—a house of justice, a sacred community rooted even more deeply in social action, with a clear vision for making a positive impact in 5786 and beyond. It’s not too late to join a party, in-person or virtually, and connect with other members invested in making a positive difference.
