We are excited to offer our winter cohort of Hearth Group experiences for our members. Below are descriptions of these groups, which range from a Shabbat & Toddler to a Qi Gong group!
Before you sign up, please be sure to check the scheduled meeting dates and confirm that you will be available to meet on those days and times. As group space is limited, you can participate in only one group at a time. Space is available on a first-come first- serve basis. Click on any image or the sign-up button at the bottom of this page to begin the sign-up process.

In this group we will explore topics of fertility, infertility, and conception through a Jewish lens. We will consider Jewish traditions across texts and time, discuss what they mean to us, and pull from them inspiration to create our own embodied rituals. Judaism has many angles through which to approach this topic, including (in)fertility in the Torah, traditional menstruation laws, as well as Rosh Chodesh and lunar cycles.
In this intimate group, we’ll create a safe space to share our personal experiences, reflections, and interpretations about all things Jewish conception. Whether you are someone who wants to conceive in the future or has conceived in the past, join us in discussing how we each make Jewish meaning of this life stage.
Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 PM on Zoom Meeting Dates: 2/27, 3/5, 3/12, 3/19
Have you ever wanted to write a poem but weren’t sure how to start? Or, do you write poetry regularly and want to discover new tools, or maybe share with others? We’ll read favorite poems, experiment with craft, and give each other supportive feedback. All levels of experience are encouraged.
Tuesdays from 2:00 – 3:30PM at the home of Debby Bacharach
Qi gong (pronounced chee gong) is an ancient Chinese meditative martial art. The form we use is remarkably simple. No experience necessary, and age is not a factor – if it helps, your hearth group leader is fast-approaching 70 (and is quite pleased to point out that he was just ‘carded’ at a bar/restaurant last night). So come and enjoy a calm hour of balance and breathing, and catch a glimpse of what the ancients meant by: “the ordinary is extraordinary.” Who knows – you may also gain a bit of flexibility along the way.
Join your fellow parents of young toddlers and babies (0-3) to spend Saturdays together at local Seattle spots. We’ll share our experiences parenting, chat about Jewish family values, and enjoy our time with other parents. If two parents are participating, please register both yourself and your partner. Since spots are limited, please only register for this Hearth group if you can commit to attending all of the events.
Saturday morning – exact time and location will be figured out with the group.
